ASGE Senior Fellows Program supported by Physician Endoscopy

ASGE Senior Fellows Program supported by Physician Endoscopy
It is estimated that there are 14,000 gastroenterologists and more than 2000 individual GI groups in the United States today. Approximately 50% of GI providers are estimated to be employed by hospitals or other health care organizations. What should GI Fellows be thinking about as they begin the final chapters of their formal training years? What do the different work environments look like? What opportunities and challenges do they provide? Will the present consolidation trends in GI practice continue? Will the current COVID crisis affect hiring of new providers? How can GI fellows obtain reliable answers to their questions about the GI practice environment? In fact, what questions should one be asking in the first place? This course is designed to help senior GI Fellows better understand the current and projected future of academic and non-academic GI groups of all sizes. Experts and GI Fellow co-moderators will facilitate discussions, provide their insights and answer questions.
